TAG’s rugged tablets are customer-centric products that were specifically designed for tactical military applications, unmanned systems navigation, robotic controllers, machine control automation, and battlefield visibility positioning. Our chassis options can support up-to IP-67, and MIL-STD-810 requirements helping protect internal components against sand, dust, extreme temperatures, and moisture. Our engineers integrate the latest technology including the cutting-edge Intel® Atom processor, removable Solid-State Drive (SSD), hot-swappable batteries, and military-grade communication ports. Our ergonomic handheld tablets are designed for deployable operations where lightweight, and small footprint form factors help increase mobility. Units can be quickly mounted in vehicles, on surveyor poles, and other unique mounting situations with minimal interruption between deployment stations. Because TAG products can be fully customizable our customers have the flexibility to field a solution that meets their exact mission requirements while optimizing the rugged tablets for Size, Weight & Power (SWaP).
At the core of the PPS GPS-S system is TAG’s rugged tablet / GPS receiver, the TC-301 TAG Commander®. The TC-301 integrates both military GPS and civilian GNSS receivers, advanced Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) signal processing technology, a miniature military grade wireless radio, and an Intel® embedded low power multi-core processor. All housed inside a rugged tablet that includes a 7” touchscreen display, and dual hot-swappable long-life batteries. The high-precision, military GPS receiver provides GPS signal assurance, and security with enhanced signal rejection capabilities. The advanced integrated radio, and RTK technology provides corrections for centimeter-level real-time positioning accuracy. In stationary mode, and utilizing post-processing software, PPS GPS-S delivers millimeter-level accuracy. PPS GPS-S features Carlson® SurvPC Mil, a powerful commercial survey software for RTK survey systems, and Total Stations that have been customized for TAG’s GPS controller.
TAG developed the 2nd Generation TC-200 TAG Commander™, a rugged, handheld, Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC) device for adaptable field, and in-vehicle operations. The 2nd generation rugged tablet offered unprecedented power in the automated machine guidance 3D control box space. The TAG Commander’s easy-to-use interface, powerful yet low power consumption components, and wireless communications made the TC-200 an ideal solution for mining, drilling, landfill, construction, and precision agriculture applications. The TAG Commander included Carlson machine control applications such as Grade 4.0 for mining and construction, Landfill Grade for the solid waste industry, Drill Grade, Grade Supervisor, and TruckPro. All of which offered machine guidance, monitoring software, and productivity tools for dozers, drills, loaders, excavators, shovels, graders, scrapers, trucks, bucket wheels, barges, and landfill compactors. Designed for both man and machine, the TAG Commander included customizable docking stations to ensure customers will have the right fit for any application.
To serve the ever-increasing need for high-performance mobile computing solutions seen in the growing popularity of Ultra Mobile Devices (UMD), TAG® released the 1st Generation TC-100 TAG Commander® rugged tablet that provided the performance of a dedicated lightweight (4 lbs.) computer in a streamlined, portable form factor. The TC-100 ergonomic, handheld design was completely ruggedized to meet MIL-STDs for shock, vibration, dust, humidity, and immersion. Dual hot-swappable batteries were integrated to allow for more continuous operations in the field without interrupting active programs. End users were also able to connect the TC-100 to wireless networks and devices without the need for bulky cables, or wires. In addition to the TC-100's many standard features, a number of additional accessories were made available to accompany various application needs. For example, TAG offered a lightweight battery pack, spare battery packs, vehicle mounts, integrated keyboards, vehicle/air chargers, thigh holsters, and more.
